Mr. Kite: Garment

John Lennon wrote Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite after coming across a 19th-century poster for Pablo Fanque’s Circus Royal appearance in an antiques shop. Mr. Kite is believed to be William Kite, a circus performer who toured with Pablo Fanque from 1843 to 1845. “Mr. Henderson,” meanwhile, refers to John Henderson, a wire-walker, equestrian, trampoline artist, and clown. The graphic on the tee is a modern rendition of the original flyer.

The Dangling Conversation also considers FDA-approved language that undermines physical and mental health.
